Virgil witnesses the strange disappearances of a few Ravenville monsters. Some kind of Quicksand monster is gobbling them up - but why? Brady suspects this could only be the work of his arch-nemesis in nearby Crowtown - Chester Pester. Chester has always wanted Ravenville's monsters for himself, and is commanding the Quicksand to do it via remote control. The Quicksand is actually made up of two entities, much like a wormhole. What goes in one, comes out the other. Brady purposely jumps into this Quicksand wormhole to pop out at Crowtown. With the help of the recently abducted monsters, they capture Chester; get everyone back to Ravenville; and find a new home for the Quicksand in Ravenville. With little "convincing" from the monsters, Chester is quickly made to lose his appetite for kidnapping monsters.
