Socks And Snooze - Keeping Cool. Keeping Cool On a hot day, Emily Elizabeth's regular babysitter comes because Mrs. Howard has to work at the library. He wants to stay outside and watch television, but Emily Elizabeth wants to have fun playing in the sprinkler outside. Evan is lured outside by the prospect of impressing a cute girl, but he spends so much time trying to impress her that he doesn't pay any attention to what Emily Elizabeth or puppy Clifford want to do. After his attempts at impressing the girl fail, he finally decides that playing in the sprinkler isn't such a bad idea and then learns that the best thing he can do to impress the girl is to just be himself. Socks & Snooze Emily Elizabeth is missing a "lucky sock," one of two from a pair that she wants to wear on the first day of the new school year. She can't find it anywhere and so Clifford decides to help. Emily Elizabeth's pet rabbit Daffodil doesn't think much of his efforts, but he keeps at them and eventually finds the sock in a very unusual place. He has to make a trade to get it back, but is happy to do so. Emily Elizabeth is pleased that he found it and Daffodil admits that she was wrong to discourage Clifford's efforts.
