Bando attacks Nana with heavy tungsten bullets and wound her, which can't be deflected with vectors like normal, lighter bullets. He tells Nana, who is saying she wants to be a good girl and not fight like her father told her, that she'd never be welcome anywhere because of her horns, as humans born with horns, the result of a virus, are killed at birth. Nana and others were spared to act as guinea pigs. When she remembers Kurama saying he was ordered to kill her, she wonders why she was born in the world. Using her longer vectors, she pins him down, but is dealt a glancing blow by the bullet. Bando's prosthetic arm breaks from the gun's recoil and seeing she's bleeding, Nana starts to cry for Papa. They realize have both had their bodies damaged by Lucy and decide to team up. Kurama, his second-in-command Shirakawa, and his assistant are reprimanded by Kakuzawa for letting Nana escape and failing to find Lucy. Meanwhile Nana, not knowing of anything outside the facility, does not know what to do with the money and begins to burn some. Soon, she is found by Mayu at the cemetery where she was almost killed and they become friends. Nana is brought back to Kohta's home. Discovering Lucy (actually Nyu) in the home, Nana attacks her.
