A battle between Prince Otomo's forces and Prince Oama's, Saruta, and Inugami's forces begins. Prince Otomo's army uses Buddhism to attack Inukami and others with supernatural power, but Marimo and other local gods, including the dog tribe, support Inukami. However, Hi no Tori refuses to help, saying, "It's not the religion's fault, it's the people who use it." Inukami manages to defeat the monks who practice Buddhism, and the army of Prince Oama wins. However, Prince Oama, who gained power, changed his position to defend Buddhism for the sake of national unification.
