Satoko continues deceiving her friends and uncle, by posing as a victim of abuse. Her friends encourage Chie to visit the Höjö residence, believing Teppei to be abusive. Teppei angrily turns Chie away, believing her to be complicit in Satoko's bullying. In the Sea of Fragments, Eua watches Satoko having a mental breakdown, when Keiichi touches her. Satoko's eyes turn red and return to normal as she apologizes repeatedly. Eua declares that Satoko has become a "witch."
