Several young fox yōkai, who are searching for their parents, mistake Shippo for a hero when InuYasha recently destroyed a demon with his Wind Scar. Shippo meet a girl named Mizuki at a local village. They turn to Shippo for help, assuming he is the leader of his group. The young fox yōkai manipulate Shippo to fight against a salamander demon, but he chooses to avoid the situation.
