Pharaoh Merenre has to legitimize his claim to power over the gods in a mysterious rite. His enemies give him a sleeping pill in the evening so that he cannot undergo the exams in the temple the next day. Because he does not appear, the evil Chepseska, a follower of the god of war Seth, is proclaimed pharaoh without further ado. Papyrus and Teti must struggle to restore Merenre's rightful rule.
