A flashback shows an experiment where a researcher named Angelica attempts to teach a DZ to have a personality, however the DZ is not interested in developing its own but copying Angelica's starting to refer to itself as Angelica and Angelica as Donna (Donor). Angelica has a psychotic break starting to believe she herself is Donna and hallucinating that the DZ is stealing her personality and copying her appearance. She attacks the DZ with a knife and a struggle ensues, a fire is started in the lab and several bodies are recovered but Angelica and the DZ's are not amongst them...
