The police officer was seeking help in a kidnapping case and was accompanied by the father of the child in question. Visibly distraught, he is nevertheless turned away as Cheng had just decided to put operations on pause. Qiao Ling later admits she saw the child, Dou Dou, being kidnapped from his parent’s milk tea store three years prior. The duo is spurred into action and uses CCTV footage from the police to look for clues. The CCTV footage sends Cheng into the past as himself. While chasing the kidnapper, he runs into Qiao Ling in the past.
