Grimskull undergoes on a mission to recover Baron Dark's half of the Lightstar crystal. Grimskull comes up with nothing but a data crystal while his companions are captured. Back at base, the data crystal reveals flashbacks of how the skeleton evil began, centered at Grimskull. Lightstar takes Grimskull's sentence while Grimskull goes for the hostages to redeem his actions. The hostages are to be fed to a moodoo. Grimskull rescues the hostages and kills the moodoo. Grimskull is forgiven and accepted by the Legion of Light.
