Jim still can't believe Silver is a pirate. He's angry at himself for trusting him so much. Finally he tells Dr. Livesey, Mr. Trelawny, and Captain Smallet, what he has secretly heard. Meanwhile, the ship has reached Treasure Island. A reconnaissance team crosses ashore. Jim is there, but is supposed to break away from the group quickly in order to then secretly eavesdrop on the men. What he experiences there makes his blood run cold: Silver kills one of the pirates who mutinied against him in cold blood.
