As punishment for his latest rebellion, Manabu finds himself working alongside with the SDF's head mechanic, Whitman. No matter what he does he can't please the old, angry mechanic. Manabu learns from others that Whitman's anger stems from his perceived failure to rescue the victims of an accident many years ago. After the Pegasus Express fall into trouble on Whitman's home planet, he and Manabu race to rescue the passengers and give the mechanic a chance to redeem himself.
