Gus begins to doubt his skills as an illusionist. When he meets a gang of students from Glandus High, including Mattholomule, they invite him to the Looking Glass Ruins to collect Galderstones which can empower magic. However, Gus discovers that the ruins are an illusionists' graveyard and its guardian turns out to be an eccentric illusionist. The Glandus students traps Gus and the keeper to steal the stones, but a guilt-ridden Mattholomule helps free them and they scare the gang away, befriending Gus in the process...
