Because of a misunderstanding, Lum thinks that Ataru has proposed to her, much to his girlfriend Shinobu Miyake's irritation. "Between a Rock and a Hard Place": In the following days, Lum tries to thwart Ataru and Shinobu's attempts at communicating, resulting in chaos and destruction in the city.
