Taking the crystal it dropped, the two venture to an inn to ask the innkeeper for more details about it, wherein they meet a paladin with a tragic backstory who offers to aid them in their quest. Upon leaving the inn, however, the paladin is devoured by a large rat. It turns out that Coran, Shiro, Hunk, and Pidge are all playing Monsters and Mana, and the large rat was just Platt chewing on Shiro's character token...
