As the group leaves, Lo kills Lina as he restores Chiu's journal to find what was taken from him years ago. In San Simon, Balde is contacted by someone over sat-phone, in which he ends their "partnership," and enslaves every child after killing all adults. When infiltrating Balde's hacienda compound, their cover is blown and a battle ensues; Brister recognizes an owl and kills it, severing Lo's spying on them...
